Tips & Tricks for the EUDAMED Database – How Authorised Representatives Can Update Their Information and Competent Authority

If you work as an Authorised Representative (AR), you know the challenge: data changes, contact persons switch – and sometimes the competent authority needs to be updated. It sounds simple, but it’s only straightforward if you know the right way.

In EUDAMED, Authorised Representatives can make several updates themselves, including:

  • Updating general company data
  • Changing the competent authority
  • Deactivating their registration
  • Confirming the accuracy of their data, as required by Article 31(5) MDR or Article 28(5) IVDR

Especially practical: when the competent authority changes, for example due to a relocation of the AR, several other details can be updated at the same time – such as name, language, VAT ID, EORI number, commercial register entry, address, contact person for authorities, public contact information, or the PRRC.

Regular reviews and updates are crucial to ensure smooth communication with European authorities and to maintain data integrity in EUDAMED.

To help you navigate the process, we have created a free step-by-step guide for Authorised Representatives. It explains the entire procedure clearly and practically, with concrete examples – from maintaining your data to selecting a new competent authority.
